Journaling your way to Profits

Let me begin with a Story. Please bear with me.

Bayap : Pareng Nokat, Pareng Nokat.

No Cutloss, No Problem. Long Term Trader ako Bayap, Long Term Trader.

Bayap : Sixty Eight Years ka jan, eh Bente Siyete palang tayo.

Nokat : Ayokong makipagtalo sayo, mabuti pa, magtanong nalang tayo.

Jornalyn : Oh Bayap, Nokat. Long Time No See!! Kamusta kayo?

Bayap : Eto, umaasa parin.

Jornalyn : Umaasa?

Jornalyn : Ganun ba? Sige, pero bago ang lahat. Sagutin niyo muna itong mga tanong ko: Kailan niyo Naisipan at Nasabing “Ah eto, eto na talaga yung Sistemang Para sa akin.”? at Paano niyo nalaman yung Effectiveness nito?

Bayap : Natutunan ko yan 3 years ago.

Only to find out na makalipas ang Tatlong Buwan. Yung Binenta kong Stock, tumaas pa pala 1500% since that day na binenta ko.

Lagi nalang nagbababaan, a Day after ko mamili.

No Cutloss, No problem ang Motto niya. Yung Pataas o Yung Pababa?

Jornalyn : Alam niyo, it doesn’t matter if a STOCK goes up, down, sideways, o magpa-ikot ikot. IF YOU WANT TO BE A GOOD TRADER, YOU CAN’T LIMIT YOURSELF TO ONE STRATEGY, kahit ang tingin mo pa jan ay the BEST SYSTEM.

1. A Good Trader not only knows kung kailan nasa kanya ang Favor ng Market, he/she knows HOW TO ACT ON IT.

2. He/She constantly develop and improve yung mga Strategy na ginagamit niya.

3. They are ready and willing to Unlearn Things. If it’s not effective, they remove it.

How’d they know kung Effective ba ito o Hindi?

They BUILD it, they TEST it, if it’s GOOD, they do their Best to IMPROVE it.

pero kung hindi ito gumana, they THROW IT AWAY.

You’ve heard that right.

They Test and Improve their Strategies overtime because the KEY to succeed in the Stock Market… It’s not the SECRET INDICATOR, it’s not the amount of TIME YOU PUT IN, and it’s not HOW DEEP YOUR WALLET IS.

It’s the SKILL to continuously improve your System no matter how much you believe in it.

Yung paulit ulit na pag-Basag mo sa Sistemang nakasanayan mo until makuha mo yung Cream of the Crop. The Best of the Bests for your PROFILE. Not one time, but continously until that day na Okay ka na at handa ka na mag-Retire from Trading.

The market evolves and you should evolve with it.

Pero paano nga ba ma-Improve yung GEARS and STRATEGIES?

It’s by RECORDING your Trades.

By doing this, you get to see your Trading Strategy better.

It’s like going to a high place just to have a broader perspective, titigan mo from that angle yung mga PAST Trades mo.

Which of these Trades made me the MOST MONEY?

Which of these Trades made me the MOST MONEY, consistently?

Not only that, it will also help you ASSESS your MISTAKES. Dahil ang mga Mistakes, hindi dapat bini-BABY. If you really want to WIN in this Industry, you’ll have to Improve your Strengths and Fix your Weaknesses.

Most Traders overlooked these things.
They don’t realize na yung Konting Mali can actually cause a Big Impact in their Trading.

“HOW to start, gusto ko yan!”

If before, Traders have to write their Trades Manually on a Notebook kada araw just to see how their strategies perform.

This time, they can focus more time on developing their strategies! A much better way to Record your Trades is finally Available!

It’s called Investa Journal. Ano nga ba ito? (click the image below to see how this feature can help you in your Trading Journey.)

There are FOUR Kinds of Traders in the Stock Market.

Yung UNANG grupo
(mga kagaya ni Bayap, repeat… BAY AP), these are the type of Traders na kapag may makitang Tumataas na Stock, eh bibili na. They are Hoping na Tataas pa yung Stock nila ng 1000% everytime.

Yung PANGALAWANG grupo naman (mga kagaya ni Nokat, forever hold, Nokat), they Trust their Stock so much or should I say yung analysis nila of that Stock.

Sometimes, we think na just because bumababa yung Stock, CHEAP na ito. We lay down the things na alam na sana natin. Our knowledge of the PRICE, the VOLUME, the Indicators, the Cutloss levels… The only thing we can’t let go is our EGO.

These are the Traders who backed their Strategies/Systems with Data. They love improvements. Kung may butas sa System nila, they fix it right a way. They don’t wait until maubos yung Capital nila before they do something about the Leak. They are not PERFECT dahil kadalasan.. SILA yung mga dati nang nasaktan and ayaw na nilang balikan yung nakaraan, that’s why they want to create a better FUTURE.

Now, more calculated and more data-driven for them to have BETTER ODDS OF SUCCESS.

Malamang nagtataka kayo kung bakit wala yung FOURTH Group.
They’re so BUSY bashing Stocks, Ideas, etc. They don’t have TIME to Trade. Kaya wala sila dito.

Malayo man, malapit rin: An OFW Kid Story

Hi! I’m Coleen, an OFW kid. If you’re like me or if you’re a family of an OFW, you might relate to my story. In a year, masasabi ko na I get to see him 3-4 months? And hindi yan consecutive, magkakahiwalay pa yan.

Growing up, I’d always pray for his safety. Always praying that he will be able to come home safe to us – that no danger will happen to him. If that OFW is your spouse, parent, or someone very close to your heart, you might have the same worries as I do.

Because of wanting to spend more time with the family, my parents decided to start businesses. Sinubukan naming magtinda ng chocolates, peanut brittles, siopao, and even different kinds of soap like dishwashing liquid and detergents. Their biggest investment was opening a physical shop – a “karinderya”. Just like any young business, it was tough, and we can barely make ends meet. It was a struggle. As much as my parents wanted to go through the challenges, they couldn’t afford to lose their health, me and my sister’s education, and the “bonding” time with the family. Since the “karinderya” business was our family’s bread and butter, we had to give priority to the customers’ needs prior to ours.

My dad had to go back working abroad. It was better. While he’s away working, we do our best in school and in saving money so that we can make the most when he comes back. I was happy.

Fortunately, I wasn’t contented. Wow, fortunately. Haha. Maybe I always felt that there’s something else that we can do- that maybe I can do. Maybe business is the answer for some. But what if you’re not really a business-type of person?

EH DI STOCK MARKET!

Unfortunately, it cost my family so much for me to know the options. We’re not really educated that much when it comes to finances, investments, or even the stock market. Other people took advantage of my lack of knowledge. I started in forex trading before I got to the stock market. I did learn something from Forex and that’s it. I just learned from my mistakes and experiences. And yes, I lose money. May be there are a lot of victims out there like me.

It was really a tough time for me. There was regret, guilt, and depression. I just wanted to help my dad. I just wanted him not to work abroad anymore. I just wanted him home.

You see, I’m really blessed, lucky you may say. My dad was very supportive even in my forex journey. He continues to believe in me even in my failures. It was my dad who introduced me to the stock market. He wanted me to get back, stand up – and use what I’ve learn and apply it to the stock market. He gave me another capital to start again.

I might not be as good as the traders out there. I can earn a few hundreds to a thousand pesos for each trade. Sabi nga nila, “small progress is still progress”. The best part of our story was – our struggles in forex led us to get serious with the stock market.

Currently, as a family, we are investing in the stock market with the hopes of the day my dad won’t need to go abroad anymore. You see. We just need to learn and share it to others. By simply sharing, we can also make an impact to other’s lives. In consequence, has an impact to the future of our children – that someday no one has to work outside the country for a comfortable life.

To everyone who wants to learn about the Stock Market, pero hindi alam saan magsisimula. Baka makatulong ito sainyo!

Stock Market: An OPPA OFW story

“Naks abroad ang work!

Working the usual 8-5pm shift. Chasing the years. So ayun sinubukan kong mag-apply at magtrabaho papuntang Korea. Anyeong haseyo ❤!

Different country, same story, decent salary, but away from your family. Working for more than 8 hours a day is no joke minsan wala ka ng oras para sa sarili mo. Sobrang mahirap.

All those times, nasa BANK ang pera ko, kumikita naman mga less than 1% kada taon pero nababagalan ako. After a year, naghanap ako ng ibang way to make my MONEY work for me. The search started there. But I thought, just like everyone else, pang-Mayaman lang ‘yang stocks na yan. I contacted a friend from Cebu na alam kong nagii-Stocks para magtanong tanong. That was the start of my journey, sa una takot ako dahil pinaghirapan ko yung perang balak kong i-Invest but I was enlightened!

I realized ANYONE CAN INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET, IT DOESN’T MATTER KUNG MALIIT LANG ANG IPON MO SA BANKO.

“From Customer to Shareholder of Jolibee.”

Nagbasa basa pa ko tungkol dito. Nanunuod ako sa mga business related tv station just to get a deeper understanding of how to start investing in Stocks. I was HUNGRY and After six months of searching and studying, I went home. Agad – agad akong Nag-open ako ng account with my savings. Consistently, for 6 months, aside dun sa initial capital ko, I put PHP5,000 into my account and buy BDO shares.

“After 6 months, I gained 17% from BDO.”

Cut the long story short, I continued sa journey ko. Nag-aral ako ng mga Strategies and Setups after kong magtrabaho, I also met friends along the way, yung iba sa Pilipinas, yung iba naman andito rin sa Korea.

(Ako yung gwapo sa pinaka right)

Madami akong nakuha through investing, given na yung Financial aspect pero Most importantly – yung Financial freedom- not the freedom na kaya mo nang bilhin lahat ng gusto mo (although that could happen, too), but ‘yung tipong ‘di ka na mag wo-worry sa mga bills mo. ‘Yung may Peace tuwing matutulog ka sa gabi knowing that you can do the things you want to do and fulfill a purpose pagkagising mo kinabukasan. You also meet friends along the way which is isa sa mga Magandang nakuha ko because I started Investing, cheesy!

I am still in Korea as of the moment. Still working. Still trading. Still fighting. Ever since na-Experience ko yung potential ng Stock Market Investing, nagkaroon ako ng desire to share lahat ng natutunan ko for almost 6 years na pag-tTRADE sa ibang OFWs who also want to reach their biggest dream, karamihan yung makauwi at makasama ang pamilya. Swerte yung mga gustong matuto ngayon. Much luckier than we were nung nag-Start palang kami. One of the biggest struggles I had during that time was the lack of learning resources, tools, and community that will support each other.

What are rinse-and-repeat trading abuses?

Rinse-and-repeat trading abuses is where a trader capitalizes on the wide spread of a stock.

For example: $WPI .87 bid, .91 offer — a trader just buys and sells repeatedly in the virtual trading platform and takes advantage of the illiquid stock and its wide spread.

In the real markets, you can barely trade these situations because you need to queue your volume. Meaning, you run the risk of not having your order filled since the stock is barely trading, or much worse, you could be trapped in an illiquid stock.

On the other hand, in any virtual trading system, anyone can just go maximum allocation and buy/sell repeatedly since there is no queue, and you can exit any time — which does not represent real markets. In real market situations, you won’t be able to trade this consistently with significant volume, which is why we do not find this strategy as realistic

This kind of stock behavior depicts an unrealistic strategy and it is often abuse-able in virtual trading competitions.

We iterate that any player who is constantly getting his/her profits from rinse-and-repeat wide spread and illiquid trades will flagged and be disqualified. We will be able to validate this through our algorithms that verify the trading history of each participant.

We understand that scalping is a form of strategy, but it is barely applicable in the Philippines especially given the high commissions and the inability to go-in-and-out consistently due to the lack of liquidity and risk of wide spread stocks that suddenly become inactive and illiquid. Day-trading stocks that have real moves and liquidity are OK, but those who are just looking to repeatedly abuse stocks that are barely trading (widespreads) and are illiquid will be DISQUALIFIED.

As we have said, we will have no TOLERANCE to traders who are abusing illiquid stocks and rinse-repeat abuses.

We have observed that there are still a lot of traders mainly profiting from illiquid stocks and repeatedly doing rinse and repeat strategies. We have given our warning earlier to some of you. Our algorithms and our team has detected several players who continue to abuse and rely mainly on ‘rinse-repeat’ spread abuse trades. We have been very consistent in iterating to you that RINSE-REPEAT, unrealistic and abusive trading strategies will be penalized and will not be TOLERATED in this competition.

What are “abusive” trades?

Example 1: TBGI

Look at the Bid and Ask Table Below.
Some of the Traders may Opt to Buy the Stock (in the Competition) at 0.53, Sell it at 0.54 and in just a few minutes, gain around 1.5+% in profits per trade. This is nearly impossible and takes a huge amount of Time once done in Real Life because you have to wait for your order to be filled first.

We want to find winners who show TRUE skill and strategy.
